1990 Group 13 Astronaut Candidate (ASCAN) Susan J. Helms participates in
T-38  training at Vance Air Force Base (VAFB), Enid, Oklahoma.  Helms,
wearing  helmet with oxygen mask, familiarizes herself with procedures to
follow in  preparation for ejection from a jet aircraft.  Helms, along with
the other  1990 Astronaut Class members, took part in ground egress and
parasail  training exercises at VAFB from 07-29-90 through 07-31-90.
