Group 13, 1990 Astronaut Candidate (ASCAN) Ellen Ochoa is captured in this 
portrait-like view as she listens to a briefing prior to the beginning of
the  field training portion of a survival training course exercise at Vance
Air  Force Base (AFB) in Enid, Oklahoma. The course is designed to
familiarize the  trainees with procedures to follow in the event of an
emergency ejection from  a jet aircraft. Ochoa, along with 22 other ASCANs,
began a year's training  and evaluation in July.  This session was
conducted from 07-29-90 through  07-31-90.
